* I have been tutoring for the majority of my life. I started at the tender age of nine tutoring my cousin (then age six) in spelling. While tutoring her she went from an F in her spelling class, to an A. I held a job tutoring college algebra and economics at Oakland University in the Academic Skills Center for roughly two semesters. I mentored for the Pre-College programs at OU, in which I mentored at Lincoln Middle School in Pontiac Michigan, helping students with writing, social studies, and math. *I am VERY passionate about tutoring, working with students, and helping the underprivileged, underrepresented and students that need special attention in class. I want to be a tutor because it is my passion and I plan on being an educator in the future, and working with students. I am very qualified with my experience as a mentor and former tutor. * I am a business student and I have previously taken linear programming, calculus, and college level algebra * Along with currently being a Pre-College programs mentor, a mentor at a local Pontiac High School for Winning Futures (an award winning program), and former tutor for the Academic Skills Center at my college, I directed, edited, and produced, two public service announcements geared toward the importance of higher education and dyslexic children, which won an award from WB20 and second place in a Detroit film festival. *21 overall Act score, *550+ GRE
